Microsoft's Surface Hub is a massive touch screen with built-in intelligence for meetings, whiteboard sessions and video conferencing, a unique and impressive addition to any corporate conference room. With its huge touch screen and thin profile, Microsoft's Surface Hub could easily be mistaken for a comically large television or tablet. But the Surface Hub is much more capable than a TV and doesn't work like a tablet or any personal computing device. This smart collaboration/ whiteboard/ videoconferencing system, with its built-in computer, sensors, microphones, cameras, and a customized version of Windows 10 focused on enterprise collaboration, Surface Hub is meant to live in a conference room or communal space , where people come together to brainstorm and communicate . In creating this product, the engineers set themselves three goals: talk, draw and share content. Companies can use the Hub to conduct interactive brainstorming sessions with remote employees via Skype, demonstrate and take notes on large-format visual data such as graphs and tables, analyze 360-degree representations of images and objects (such as machine parts or organs ) and project content from smaller devices onto a larger screen to share with a group. Surface Hub represents endless collaboration possibilities, and there is currently no other single product that can handle everything it does. The viewing angles are excellent. You don't have to be seated in the center to get the best view, which is a good thing for large meetings. The matte finish of the 4K resolution display helps limit glare from overhead sunlight and conference room light. The screen has an optically tethered 100-point multi-touch projective-capable sensor and a 120Hz refresh rate, which allows for both accurate finger input and stylus tracking, as we found in our testing. The Hub knows what type of input is being used, so a finger produces a more marker-like appearance, while styles produce thinner lines.
